KARAKTERISTIK PENDERITA ASMA PADA ANAK DI RUANG RAWAT INAP RSUD ABDUL WAHAB SJAHRANIE SAMARINDA PADA TAHUN 2018-2020
Abstract
Asthma is a disease that becomes global serious problems affecting all age, including children. The prevalence of asthma in children keeps proliferating from year to year. This research aims to investigate the characteristics of pediatric inpatients with asthma in inpatient ward at RSUD (Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah – Regional Public Hospital) Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Samarinda from 2018 to 2020. This research used descriptive observational method with “total sampling” as its sampling method. The sampling used secondary data from medical records of the pediatric inpatients from 2018 to 2020. 49 pediatric inpatients with dominant characteristics were selected as samples with details as follows: 25 samples (51%) were in the age group of 2-5 years old, 30 samples (61.2%) were male, 35 samples (71.4%) suffered from moderate asthma exacerbation level, 27 samples (55.1%) did not have history of atopy, and 45 samples (91.8%) had upper respiratory tract infection as a precipitating factor that causes asthma. Thus, it can be concluded that the characteristics of pediatric inpatients with asthma at RSUD Abdul Wahab Sjahranie from 2018 to 2020 are mostly in the age group of 2-5 years old, male, with moderate asthma exacerbation level, without history of atopy, and the asthma exacerbations are mostly precipitated by upper respiratory tract infection.
