PENGARUH ANTIBIOTIK METRONIDAZOLE, CIPROFLOXACIN DAN OXYTETRACYCLINE TERHADAP BAKTERI ENTEROCOCCUS FAECALIS DENGAN METODE DIFUSI DISK

Abstract

Dental pulp disease is a disease in Indonesia that is often suffered by Indonesian people. The treatment for this disease is root canal treatment. One of the treatment stages is root canal sterilization done by giving antimicrobial material to the root canal thereby reducing pathogenic microorganisms in the root canal. The main bacterium most often found in patients with failed root canal treatment is Enterococcus faecalis. The use of antibiotics is recommended for root canal treatment. Based on research conducted by Vijayaghavan et al, 2012 revealed that the combination of antibiotics increased the success of root canal treatment. The purpose of this research to determine the inhibitory zone in polyiantibiotics containing metronidazole, ciprofloxacin and oxytetracycline against Enterococcus faecalis. This research used experimental laboratory with disc diffusion methods. Antibiotics Metronidazole, Siprofloxacin and Oxytetracycline and Poliantibiotic combined with a ratio of 1: 1: 1 (Metronidazole : Cyprofloksasin : Oksitetracycline). The bacteria which used were Enterococcus faealis ATCC® 29212 . Enterococcus faealis was inoculated through MHA. Disc blank with diameter of 6 mm was dropped of Poliantibiotic, then it was located on media that had been being inoculated by bacteria. This research used repetition for three times. Petridish which contained inoculum bacteria and disc measurement was incubated on 37 °C for 24 hours in an anaerobic atmosphere. The result of observing and measurement inhibit zone diameter. The statistical analysis data was taken from ANOVA and Post Hoc The result of this research showed that Metronidazole, Siprofloxacin and Oxytetracycline and Poliantibiotic can inhibit the growth of Enterococcus faecalis. The result of Post Hoc showed that there was no different significant of Enterococcus faecalis bacterial inhibition zone in the treatment control positive and Metronidazole with the result p > 0,05. Conclusion of this study wasMetronidazole, Siprofloxacin, Oxytetracycline and Poliantibiotic can inhibit growth of Enterococcus faecalis bacteria.
