PERBEDAAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS MULAWARMAN DALAM MENGHADAPI DAMPAK PANDEMI COVID-19

Abstract

Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a corona virus, which has become a world health crisis because of its rapid spread. During a pandemic, people will experience excessive anxiety or stress due to the rapid spread of the virus and lack of good information or news about the development of this virus. Anxiety is a mental-psychological condition characterized by excessive feelings of worry, anxiety, and fear for a person, causing daily activities to be disrupted. This mental disorder also occurs among students. Apart from the COVID-19 pandemic, students are faced with new learning situations. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the anxiety levels of medical study program students at Mulawarman University in dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design is a comparative research. Respondents in this study were medical students at Mulawarman University who were taken by simple random sampling technique. Anxiety levels were assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Methods of data analysis using descriptive data analysis and analytic data analysis using independent samples t test. There were 76 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria aged 18-22 years, 25 male respondents (33%) and 51 female respondents (67%). The results of the independent samples t test obtained a value of p> 0.05. It can be concluded that there is no difference in the level of anxiety of students of the Mulawarman University medical study program in dealing with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
