Abstract

Water sanitation is an effort to manage water and toilet facilities to prevent waterborne diseases and improve public health. This study aims to find out the correlation between water sanitation and stunting. The study employed an analytical observational method using a cross-sectional approach to 90 under-five children registered at the Puskesmas Kahala. The data were collected by filling out an observation sheet which covered the condition of the toilet and the use of clean water in the toilet. The findings showed that most under-five children (70.5%) had poor water sanitation and experienced stunting. Sanitation conditions significantly influenced the incidence of stunting. It is concluded in this study that water sanitation is correlated with the incidence of stunting.
